The 1985 South African Motorcycle Grand Prix was the first round of the 1985 motorbike Grand Prix season. It took place over the weekend of 22-23 March 1985 at the Kyalami circuit. 
 
In the GP250 class Freddie Spencer won so as to set the first seal on seven that would follow during the 1985 season.
